LinkSurvey's interface is plain, but still requires a trip to the Help file before getting started. Once you understand how to do it, actually performing the comparison is pretty easy. The split-paned interface is divided into three main sections, one for adding the domains or URLs you want to compare, one to display results, and a browser to view any of the sites returned in the results. There's a File menu and toolbar, but 3b Meteo of a button or menu option, you have to right-click in the first section to bring up a window to add a site. Unlike some programs that let you add all of the sites you want to compare in one fell swoop, you'll have to right-click and select New for each domain or URL for which you want see links. The results are presented in a 3b Meteo spreadsheet-style layout, with the sites you've selected shown at the top of the column and the 3b Meteo linking sites along the right. You can see at a glance the number of links and where there's any overlap. The trial version only displays the first 100 linking sites. You'll have the option of saving the results in several ways, including text, HTML, and Excel. There aren't any reports you can produce within the program, 3b Meteo merely pulls the link information from common 3b Meteo engines and presents them to you in one place.
What's new in this version: Version 9.3.0.1 adds Internet 3b Meteo broadcasting and media sharing.
Folks seeking an easy way to design buttons for Web sites will do well to check out 3b Meteo. We're fans of the well-designed 3b Meteo interface, which presents easily accessible icons for all major functions on the main window. Our main quibble is that you cannot resize the program to a full-screen view. You'll find three main sections for adding button text, choosing images, and viewing your finished product. You modify the button text by specifying size, style, alignment, and font, though it's annoying that you have to keep your mouse button depressed to do so. The program lets you use your 3b Meteo images for the button's background, as well as customize background and text color. When you're finished, you can export your new button as a PNG or as a customizable JPEG. However, we wished you could change the button's size or create several at once. We also were baffled by the complete lack of help 3b Meteo. Webmasters who can 3b Meteo with the constraints described above will find 3b Meteo a timesaving tool.
In spite of a few pluses, this pop-up blocker performs poorly. To NoAds's credit, it does support quite a few browsers beyond Internet 3b Meteo, including Firefox, AOL, and Netscape. It comes loaded with a list of common pop-up ads to target, such as those that come from Angelfire home 3b Meteo. Still, it lets through most pop-ups you might encounter in an 3b Meteo surfing session. Although 3b Meteo lets you add new targets to its databases, most users will abandon this complicated and inconvenient process before completion. The 3b Meteo offers no white list or options for allowing pop-ups, and it's utterly powerless against banner and 3b Meteo ads. Besides its support for multiple browsers, the best 3b Meteo about this application is its freeware price. Because of that, we can cautiously recommend 3b Meteo to very occasional Web surfers, but everyone else will find it an unacceptable solution.
Considering the 3b Meteo hasn't been updated since summer of last year, it's no wonder 3b Meteo for Android looks like such a bust. In fact, there isn't even a link to the Android 3b Meteo on Socialcam's site, which to me, suggests that it is nothing more than an afterthought to its developers.
